The Bollito Misto is a true feast, featuring various cuts of beef, cotechino, Padovian hen, goose, or duck, all flavored with mustard sauces, green sauce, or horseradish sauce. And don’t miss the local specialties like Padovana figassa (fig cake) or the typical Pazientina, a dessert with very ancient origins, dating back to 1600, that takes its name from the term “patience” to indicate the time and care needed to make the cake, with its two layers of pastry filled with zabaglione cream and, finally, generously garnished with gianduia chocolate flakes. By Plane
The closest airport is Venice Marco Polo Airport – VCE which is 50km from the city of Padova (50 km). You can continue from the airport using the following services:

By Train
Padova is located between the cities of Vicenza, Treviso, Venice and Rovigo. It is easily reachable by train: with the high-speed trains you can reach Padova without changes in about 4 hours from Rome or Turin, just over 2 hours from Milan or Florence.
Internationally, you can reach Venice with the nightjet train network from Germany and Austria. These trains fill up quickly, so book them early. Booking early also gives you affordable prices, e.g., approximately 120 euros for a one-way overnight trip in a sleeping compartment. If you are coming from countries other than Germany and Austria, you can book connecting trains through e.g., https://www.bahn.de for Germany or https://www.oebb.at for Austria. From Padova it is also possible to reach the main towns of the North-East by train: Venice and Vicenza in about half an hour, Verona and Treviso in an hour, Cortina in 2 hours, even with direct connection.
The city center can be reached by foot in less than 20 minutes, or by public transport (buses and tram).

Trenitalia tickets must be validated before the departure of the train using the validators (yellow machines) at the station at the location of the start of the journey. From the time of validation, the ticket is valid for 4 hours.
By Car (toll motorways)
Padova is at the centre of the main motorway junctions: A4 Milan-Venice for the west-east route, A13 Bologna-Padova for those coming from the south.
- Venice – Milan (A4) motorway: exit Padova Est if you come from Venice – exit Padova Ovest if you come from Milan. Follow the signs to the city centre.
- Bologna – Padova (A13) motorway: exit at Padova Sud, follow the signs for the centre of Padova or continue in the direction of A4 Milan-Venice heading east.
