Call for Applications: Contemplative Practice Sessions
The International Society for Contemplative Research invites qualified practitioners to submit applications for leading contemplative practice sessions at our 2025 conference. We seek experienced facilitators to offer 30-45 minute sessions that complement our academic programming and provide embodied learning opportunities for conference participants.
Session Categories
We welcome applications for contemplative practice sessions spanning diverse traditions and modalities, including but not limited to mindfulness and meditation practices, yoga, tai chi, qigong, contemplative movement, reflective writing, and contemplative arts. Sessions should offer embodied learning experiences that complement the academic programming while being accessible to participants with varying levels of experience.
Application Requirements
Qualified applicants must submit:
Session Proposal – A detailed description (max 150 words) of your proposed contemplative practice session including accommodation modifications for those with physical or other limitations.
Professional Qualifications – Listing of:

- Relevant certifications and credentials
- Years of teaching/facilitation experience
- Training background and lineage (where applicable)
- Previous conference or workshop leadership experience
Practitioner Biography – Brief professional biography (max 150 words) highlighting your expertise in contemplative practice instruction
Accepted session leaders will receive complimentary conference registration
Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on:
- Depth of contemplative practice expertise and teaching experience
- Quality and clarity of session proposal
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate inclusive, accessible sessions
- Programming requirements for diverse offerings

Submission portal information
ISCR submissions are now managed by Conference Manager 2.0, a management application that is also used by other organizations. Due to this shared system, you may already have an existing account. Please review the instructions below carefully so as not to create duplicate user accounts.
If you do not have a user account, please click the button below and create an account. On the landing page, select “create user profile” under the “New Users” heading. After you create your account, you will use your email, and new password to log into the system. These credentials will be required for submitting your work. Once you have created your account, and logged in, you will be taken to your account dashboard. One of the tiles on the dashboard will say Abstract Submission- click the link that says, “Submit Now”.
